※GLASSFLAKE ®, METASHINE ® and LUMIGLAN® are the registered trademarks of Nippon Sheet Glass Co.,Ltd.
The artificial pearl luster is usually achieved with pigments with multi-reflecting layers; natural minerals as mica covered with oxidized titanium. Having glass core, METASHINE® has attained the distinguishing glossiness and transparency. Different covering materials result in different colour expressions.

Image drawing of METASHINE® Titania Coat Series
Titanium(IV) oxide(Tio₂)
Titanium Dioxide(TIO₂)
In this series, titanium dioxide is deposited on the flake glasses.
It is distinguished by its clear and brilliant luster when reflecting the coherent light. The varied thickness of the covering titanium dioxide results in the five colour variations. LUMIGLAN® series is more applicable to the paints and inks, for its particle size.

In this series, Iron Oxide (Titanium Dioxide, for some colours) is deposited on the flake glasses.
It vividly covers the colour range between yellow and red, signature of iron oxide. The varied thickness of the covering Iron Oxide results in the four colour variations. Additionally, deoxidized iron cover, “Black type” is available.

In this series, genuine silver is deposited on the flake glasses.
The vivid luster is attained because of the high reflection rate of genuine gold.

In this series, genuine gold is deposited on the flake glasses.
The gorgeous luster is accomplished by the genuine gold.
※This series is made to orders. Please contact us from here for more details.
In this series, the mixture of titanium dioxide and genuine gold is deposited on the flake glasses.
The coating technology of Nihon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd, enables colouring only with inorganic materials. Having as much luster and transparency as other series, yet this series has attained shinier colour development.

Mixing METASHINE® with inks and paints realizes the unique shiny design.
Can be mixed with any types of paints -solutions, water base, powder, etc.- to paint items such as plastic, metals and even for the purpose of electrical conduction.
Can be mixed with any type of inks- solutions, water-base, UV curving etc. - for diverse printing methods as silkscreen, photogravure, flexor, letterpress, etc.
METASHINE® can be mixed with plastic compounds.
With high transparency and luster, METASHINE® applied and favoured in diverse molded resin items.
※The effect is especially efficient in the shade parts.

GLASFLAKE® are the flake states of glass- on average, 2~5μm in thickness, 10~4000μm diameter of particles- exclusively developed, manufactured and distributed by Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd, as the only made-in-Japan flake glasses.
There are two types of glasses used in GLASFLAKE®- C Glass and E glass. C glass contains alkaline and shows high acid resistance. E glass hardly contains alkaline, therefore, is stable in resins and has no electric conductivity.
GLASFLAKE® mostly serves for industrial purposes. Flakes made of C glasses are used in paint and lining as an anticorrosion material. Flakes made of E glasses are used in thermoplastic-resin-made- precision parts, preventing warps and improving dimensional accuracy.
GLASFLAKES® for anti-warping and accuracy improvement can be applied for diverse purposes. Please contact us for more details.
FLA-KA, granule proceeded GLASFLAKES®, enhances adherence to resin and prevents dispersion.
GLASFLAKE® for anticorrosion lining is flake shaped, made of C glass (containing alkaline), hence, has excellent acid resistance. Also, through forming a flake layer, it prolongs the lives of paints and lining layers, prevents cracks, and improves chemical resistance.
